If you have a smart TV, it is probably tracking everything that shows up on the screen. This technology is called Automatic Content Recognition. Its goal is to provide more relevant ads and programming suggestions.
I guess I wouldn’t mind that if the TV manufacturer gave me the set for free or paid me for the information. Alas, they did not. So I shut mine off in about two minutes.
