ING’s remote check deposit solution has finally arrived. “CheckMate” allows anyone with an ING DIRECT Orange Savings Account, Kids Savings Account, Electric Orange or MONEY to deposit checks from anywhere – even in front of a blooming bougainvillea.
No fees. Use the free mobile app or your computer. There’s a daily limit of $5,000 or 20 check deposits, whichever you reach first, and a check limit of $3,000. Read more about CheckMate’s basics and requirements. You can also watch a video of how it works:
Checks deposited using CheckMate have slightly different hold times than regular transfers:
- Checks deposited into Electric Orange or MONEY for less than $500 – first $200 is available the next business day, the remaining funds are available after 2 business days
- Checks deposited into Electric Orange or MONEY for greater than $500 – first $200 is available the next business day, the remaining funds are available after 5 business days
- Any deposit into an Orange Savings Account or Kids Savings Account – funds are available after 5 business days
Keep in mind, any check deposits you make after the 5 PM Eastern cut-off time will count towards your limit for the following day.
